I find it interesting to hear Judy Doland complaining about loosing her title as the Matildas Women’s team first captain.
I don’t her her feeling sorry for the Australian Reps prior to her.
I was one of those pioneer football lady footballer that doesn’t receive any recognition because there wasn’t a ladies association,so we played under the JuniorAssociation.
I played for Brisbane and later Queensland but apparently I didn’t on the record, and there were Australian Teams picked back then but apparently their wasn’t.
Do the players of today realise if us pioneers hadn’t done the hard yards they would not be where they are today.
For the record I played for Annerley, and Newmarket Postal.
Margaret Offer Nee Crook
Age 75. Started playing 1964.
PS.. The name Matilda’s is in fact “The Commonwealth Bank Matilda’s” a commercial Identity today, that has hijacked the actual title of The Australian National Women’s Soccer Team, and thats when the history starts.
