Mr. Bean Masterstrokes

Why is it that whenever you think we as a nation are getting some sort of consensus some see it advantages to seek to divide?

Its beyond my recall when our states and federal governments has put politics aside yet we have examples of late where the true characters of some who need conflict to elevate their flailing or failed profiles.

I will not back away from the fact our State Government has undergone surgery and reshuffles and resignations have taken place locally as is done by all of Political parties in their tenure as government and we were reminded when a former State Member and now Somerset councillor rose from his Ipswich hideaway to weight in on fractional pranks, a game he played and lost in his one term debacle under Cambell Newman.

Then we have Mr Christensen the self appointed Foreign Minister who when he is in the country declares takes aim at our biggest export nation China without thinking things like international diplomacy protocols exist and the fallout of that ignorance. Totally out of his pay grade, and intellectual capacity.

Then we have Mr Dutton, the cruise ship king lecturing a treasurer on the quantitive steps to keep Queenslanders employed and Tourists industries fluid, and outback air service retained after himself failing to count his own caucus to see if he had the numbers to challenge for PM, a Mr. Bean masterstroke.

If we are to build back faith in our political processes and democracy we could start by sticking to your appointed day job, serving your constitiuents well and not grandstanding.

Australia is Not A Company thanks.

It seems the truce is over in the COVIDSafe debate and the ideology is returning as status quo.

As I have stated previously in hope that our politicians realise we are running a country not a company but now it seems the dollar will push the medical science and any science to the back seat where it’s been parked under this government.

When we will we stop following the Trump edict and put people first or when will the politicians stand up and say how many are they deaths are they prepared to accept as a fair trade off to appease lobbyists?

We all know how critical it is for our economy to start that’s not the debate but it’s the timing and the risk of a secondary wave, and after patting ourselves on the back just to be kicked backwards by the irresponsible self centred who really don’t care. We see how quick it moves to spread so it seems this government is putting all the eggs on a App to justify its decisions regardless if public opinion more than sceptical on its taupe and effectiveness.

Yes in a company you plan and enact risk management but as I’ve stated this situation is not a company which this government cannot come to terms with because fact is the people who will be exposed the most are the people are the ones on the coal face that we need to keep the place running or haven’t we learnt that yet either?

Our Youths Health is Not a Political Tool

There is lot of political noise about who when and where our educational system will resume to what is seen as normal again but let’s see who is driving this debate and If our kids are really the cherished concern of politicians.

The higher education faction are split into the high profit making sector and the general day to day public sector both with differing needs highlighting the fact that education should never be outsourced with reliance on outside clientele to support our national mainstream system.

Out tiered primary and secondary system geared to the your wallet is always a tool used as a vote catcher appeasing the ideology’s of each and every constituency hence we are having this national debate on when is it safe to return to schools.

Our National Cabinet of State Premiers is proving it worth and each premier has the responsibility for their populations some vastly different in demographic, density, and cultural diversity so no comparison can be drawn, however that does not stop politicians and the media making hay out of this complicated situation made worse by a PM spreading crumbs to keep his keepers on side.

Until we put our youth’s health and well-being first and unleash the media on who is stands to make a buck by getting their puppets to squark, we will be no better than Trump’s America.

Goughs Quote Hits home In Covid-19 Times

We are all updated daily if not hourly on how the Covid -19 battle is going at home and with our trading partners little media is being give to the poorest and less higher profile nations fight against the virus.

This is a vital mistake and oversight not only will it keep the virus alive worldwide but it time will effect every manufacturing process and eventually our national supply

All manufacturing process start with the basic minute product at the start of the chain and many of those poor nations supply and manufacture those basic products at sweat shop rates.

If the virus become rampant in those nations that link ceases to exit and the chain slows or dies effecting basically every item we use.

We have all become aware that our workers, the truck-loaders, drivers , shop assistants, cleaners are vital to our survival and these poorer nations products and services are critical to the manufacturing process so it’s in our own interested, particularly the more affluent nations to support these struggling ones for our own benefit.

Unfortunately in the past the narrow views of foreign aid has been apolitical football for the ignorant, now that self interest will come back and bite us.

Gough’s Quote rings so true in these times

“The punters know that the horse named Morality rarely gets past the post, whereas the nag named Self-interest always runs a good race.

Raelene Castle’s Professionalisms To High for the White Ants.

Well the old boys club of rugby will be back slapping over their glass of port and a cigar in the men’s club around the country.

They got their scalp. Who in their right mind would put a women in a position, a New Zealand women in charge even though the game was In free fall before she come to the desk.

Not only that the club did a Gillard on her, lambasting her personal appearance disregarding he medical condition, the lowest one can go but it didn’t deter the commentators all with their own agendas of keeping power in the halls of power in NSW and keeping their jobs on Fox.

So what did she do wrong? She stood up against discrimination, she stood up for a competitive broadcasting terms, and with limited funds attempted to get the second tier competitive, but not good enough.

This is not about Australian Rugby progressing it’s about power and be assured the Fox Commentators, the ones that white anted her continually will just happen to get the leather seats and head in the trough.

No wonder Australian sport fails internationally, we think we have all the answers, but we read our own press and believe it, and if anyone points that out their regarded some sort of traitor.

We are the laughing stock of the professionals overseas, because we don’t behave like professionals because it’s too hard for us to accept that because you won once does not make you a authority on all knowledge, that knowledge on the field and off.

Mrs Castle is a professional and standing down and her exit demonstrated that to us who appreciate the heat in the kitchen will leave with a credible history, one that none of the misogynistic contenders has and never will.

Let’s be The Adults and Not Play The Blame Game.

Like on the farm you just have to accept animals do what they do as part of life. In politics it’s the same.

In a world that is in kayos, millions being infected and death now accepted as  the norm, some of our illustrious leaders are looking for blame.

Waisting  vital political oxygen on it where the focus should be on survival of their citizens shows they just can’t get away from their own personal politics of political survival first.

There will be plenty of time later to do the risk assessments and cause and effect processes but now it’s time  leadership and bi partisan behaviour at the highest level. The infantile behaviour of Trump trying to deflect his incompetence mirrors a Romper Room episode gone bad, yet it seems our government wants to join his sandpit as a show of lapdog solidarity.

We should stand with the adults in the room and get on with sticking process that so far is saving lives but this movement by our foreign minister sends the cynics a clear message that we may follow America in trading our standards of protection off for capital gain regardless of lives lost.

We are a intelligent race us Aussies so let’s not get ahead of the game, beat the virus first then rebuild our economy and social structures with zest from the bottom up.

Let’s Lead and not Follow.

This Play is not a Rehearsal

Today our national archive is calling for our reflections on what is happening to our lives as we speak so it can be kept in the annals of time forever.

They are calling on all citizens to contribute and that will be a true record of what is happening at this point in time regardless of any political pressure or spin.

We as Aussies have the natural ability to self analyse or not backward in analysis of each other in public without much fear of being shot ,maimed, or sued if we go outside public expectations of behaviours.

We are fortunate and we do have vast opinions across many subjects and probably I’d be safe in saying religion is the most source of divide, then politics and racism fight for the lowest common denominator.

Over my life I have been through the phases of submission, rebellion, inclusion, exclusion, independence, reliance, and many others as me and my family evolve often with totally different opinions and views yet still close and maintaining respect.

Health is the most important issue and really nothing else matters. Money and status is jack shit if you body is fucked. Yeah the relatives will be caring up front while they are thinking what’s in in for me if you do have some sort of legacy pending.

The phrase “ I want nothing from death” sometimes rings truth, and other times a blatant lie, what I will say is generational ethos of to make your kids life better than yours was more prevalent in the post war baby boomer parents while their kids are much more selfish and self centred in many cases.

As a boomer I’m embarrassed daily on the behaviour of some of my aged counterparts who over time have forgotten their parents standards and become those Quiet Australians who’s focus is on self interest, spending the inheritance, grey nomad, all about me because I earned it, and I’m a victim look at me ,I’m special ,mentality which would make our parents roll in their graves.

That also should be recorded in the archives which is now magnified under the restrictions of the #covid_19 .

Saturday last we made a legal trip to our doctor for the full flu shot which was done in a regimented military precision exercise for safety, instructions clear and precise yet we witnessed older generations stalking the doors, impatiently pushing in on people who we’re complying with instructions.

Just plain grubs, driving their new cars all much more important than those about them and sadly it’s now ingrained in their personalities.

How far have we fallen from our Aussie roots I ask?

Then we see the next generation with no control over their kids leaving it to everyone else to educate and set standards as often the parents which are morally bankrupt themselves.

The current world crisis might shake a few ideologies as well individual self analysis as I hope we are in need of a life reset in this nation. The last thing we want or need is the American model that is proving so self destructive as the dog eat dog capitalistic system based on profit over people will play out before your eyes and the results incomprehensible to not only us but worldwide. Fragmentation of public service responsibilities at national level may seem cost effective, politically blame shifting, at the ultimate cost to its population. Money is useless, business is irrelevant until the virus is defeated and trying to give it a timeline is idiotic without real developed vaccines not silver bullets. Trump and his cronies are looking for those bullets and it’s pure fantasy deluding the population as Hitler did as they were closing in on Berlin.

Truth is the first casualty of war, so please listen to real news from real journalists not talking heads, opinion junkies, all looking for self indulgence…

And yes I could be judged but I don’t have a rating or advertising accountabilities, my opinion is just that , a opinion.

Cheers

Jackboot Legislation Threatens Media Watchdogs.

I respect to Supreme Courts decision on the legality of the raids on Sky journalists and the ABC but that decision does not make the law just.

If we lookout the entire landscape of the way we get our news the days of just picking a a rag or clicking on a site and believing the spin or chose to research the story from different outlets then have a somewhat expansive view.

It is not beyond government regardless left or right to attempt to manipulate then truth for political advantage and it is up to the media to scrutinise, question , investigate, expose the dark truth and that includes the them who enforce the governments legislations.

Once separation of powers, law and politics was respected now its optional if the narrative suits yet some outlets turn a blind eye while others play it straight often to their ridicule from the yes men.

If your confused how a government can spin they support whistle blowers then raid them demanding their sources or else, or tip off the media of raids before warrants are served for political gain , be assured we are not in some facist republic but we could be on track if we continue to allow jackboot legislations to prevail.

Please question if we want to be like America and have political appointed judges to deliver government ideology or have that separation of power that can be protected by a robust and investigative professionals who do their job unhindered without the fear of midnight raids.

It’s Getting Just too Hard for Scotty from Marketing.

No doubt our country is going through a political identity crisis at the present and our political party’s don’t really know who their actual base is as they try to find a space that suits the current climate and suits their factional nemesis’s

Once the proud County Party now the Nationals used to represent the man on the land, the cocky, the producer, now its total focus is running a case for big coal and gas that rips the guts out of agricultural land, contaminates or irradiates underground water surrendering fertile country for the bag of fools gold.

They themselves have created a vacuum that the Greens and other groups with nowhere near the knowledge of the forefathers to fill, all self inflicted.

Amazing diatribe from Allan Jones about coal and climate denial yet the same man led the protest at Aplin against coal expansion. You have to ask who is paying the piper then conveniently forgets or hope we forget.

This country is crying out for leadership on important issues such as climate, mental health, economic certainty for business yet this government and its factions cannot decide what seat they sit in Canberra Parliament, what ideologies to have to suit days narrative, what we expect from Trumpsville but not in a thinking democracy.

If only we thought, listened and questioned more, and actually engaged we the punters could raise the bar if we choose.

Attacking the Messenger

Rarely I respond to opinions aired in the Letters to Editor Column as I believe we are all entitled to our views on all subjects across the board however I will respond if I truely believe their has been a injustice as a result.

I have seen many editors in my time as a contributor to this rag from before Tony Moore to present day and with a few exceptions the Queensland Times has been a regarded as a local credible source.

When Murdock entered I had huge apprehensions that we Ipswicharians would loose it’s balance yet that has not happened even though we have to tolerate the cut and paste of the Masters wishes in some copy our local news and opinions have and are well aired thanks to our local team of journos, so when I read that this paper has bias against our PM or publishing only anti government slant is untrue to say the least.

Thanks to Shannon and her team we get a pretty good local rag considering the trash coming out of the Courier Mail and that’s why we support our local QT, so when we decide to attack the media we have to look deep at ourselves and decide where the actual bias really lies.
