Would Female Leaders make the World Safer?

Hang on world I want to get off. Thats what many may be thinking looking at the way the leaders of the most influential countries are performing in their roles as leaders.

Trump thinks America is just a economy forgetting it’s also has people and social structure, Britain has moved to close debate on a exit it’s not sure what are the real ramifications. Hong Kong is fighting for its right to just be itself as you were, while Israel and Iran are goading each other seeing who can gain the power in the sand pit. China and Korea have plans that do not align with the rest of the world based on self interest and in every case the leaders are male.

If history is not to be repeated and world conflict can be avoided we have to look at who are the best political negotiators are women in the majority of cases And will always reach compromise sooner with better or amiable outcomes.

Politics aside Britain’s T. May was ejected for not achieving a outcome she herself did not vote for but her effort goes unchallenged while Hong Kong’s lady is driving a agenda not of her making both outstanding performers driving a agenda not of their own beliefs. That’s politics in its rawest form unfortunately but I believe if we had more women as world leaders the debates on the major points of contention would not escalate any where near quick. and our world would be safer, but unfortunately males at the highest level are of aggressive culture and seem comfortable in intimidating rather than intellectual behaviour which brings into question are they right fit for the job of leaders for today’s world ?

Self Regulation in the Churches cannot be Trusted.

In the past week or so I have watched the wave of emotions surrounding the Pell decision and I am one who’s vote falls with the victims.

Sadly it’s not only one church or godly organisation that stands condemned it many. It’s not only one man it’s 100’s of years of perpetrators hidden, relocated or just plain tolerated to keep the cloth appearing sacred.

As a atheist I feel for those who’s faith in their gods and churches has been tarnished if not destroyed but I’m sure they will recover over time. They too are victims of this world wide culture of denial however I refuse to concede the churches do not have enough money to compensate the physical abuse.

I see church hierarchy’s bathed in gold, while their followers starve, struggle for food or justice and I appreciate the excellent work by the believers who work tirelessly across our nation as do the non clerical organisations helping our fellow travellers, but these “keepers of the cash” run the religion business’s ruthlessly as exposed by the commission.

My faith in our legal system is solid and justice will be done in the end, but after the dust settles who will watch the watchers as self regulation has proved totally inadequate for far too long.

Laser Lady Departs

With my record I would be the last to be seen as a supporter of Julie Bishop. Her ruthlessness in representing James Hardie in the Bernie Banton days supported by Abbott made us victims of asbestos never forget.
She carried that mantle into her parliamentary career and although I debated intently against her political beliefs I respected her opinions and her loyalty to her cause.
She held herself above that of her party colleagues yet had to tolerate them and at times I’m sure was disgusted with their antics particularly in the Gillard times when the Abbot and this government were waging a war not on politics but the female sex achieving the top job in the land.
That ideology of male inner culture of supremacy within the Liberal Party was and still exists, and is why she is taking her leave in my view.
As foreign minister she represented our country with dignity and class exceeding any of her parties predecessors.
The media does not go unchallenged as they too as they did with Gillard made infantile references to dress, shoes, fashion issues and disrespectful language over the substance of being a nations highly elected representative.
Bishop as is Gillard will not fade into obscurity as the Old Boys Club wish, they will continue to stand and speak well above the intellectual capacity of their knockers, and personally I am proud I support a Party that has recognised the value of women in politics and walked the walk not just talk the talk.

Can You sort the Wheat from the Chaff?

No wonder the punters are totally sick of politics after the performance of the federal government of late but strap yourselves in as their will be more rot to come.

Bi elections and speculation of full federal elections will flood our airwaves but as painful as it will be we must be able to sort out the wheat from the chaff.

We will be subjected to fear campaigns on migration, climate, climate denial, religious freedoms, dole bludgers and the budget.,All the old tired cliches will be dragged out expecting us to swallow the baits again.

Its quite clear even the the most disinterested person the coup backed by the ultra right owned by big coal supported by the media barons saw fit to remove our PM. but was foiled by shear mathematics of democracy. The plan to hijack government was poorly executed by ideological thugs, ego driven with no regard of what our decision was at the polls.

We saw Rudd/Gillard fiasco 5 years ago and by giving the grass roots of the party a say stability has occurred much to the irritation of the same media that supported Turnbull’s demise.

Sooner or later we must get away from electing any PM by personality only. We have to look at who has the skills, be it black or white, male or female, who will. come equiped with policy that will help all Australians from the bottom up not top down.

The fixation on media cycle politics is destroying good sound government and someone has to put the media back in their rightful box ,a role to keep them honest and report the story and not be part of it.

Capped Political Campaigns Stems Corruption

At what point is it when government becomes a servant to lobbyists, foreign nations, and big business?

The Australian Labor Party, exPrime Ministers, Current Opposition Leaders and Unionists have been subject to Royal Commissions, Federal Raids, and Ministerial sackings all in the hope that corruption can be proven either personal or institutional with Dastayari being the casualty of basic stupidity he will probably admit to.

Saturday we witness the Poker Machine industry and the Gun Lobby sponsor a campaign but we are not allowed to see to what extent until 6months after the election. So what was the deal struck? No one gives money without payback.

Chinese government investors have pumped cash into South Australian Liberals for the upcoming state election the same offence Dastayari got rolled for and the media is silent but are very vocal if union cash from Australian workers want representation. And nothing more has to be said about where the fossil fuel industry’s cash ends up.

My point is all elections state ,federal, local should have capped campaigns, full live political donations broadcast across all media outlets not just web site releases available only to those who are tech savvy.

Media outlets should not be exempt and “in kind” advertising in lue of cash reveals to what extent they are balanced or slanted in political opinion or factual copy.

Yes “Live Fact Check” re launch and legislated in total as a independent authority as is the electoral commission.

The world is witnessing the extent of power the NRA has over politicians in America and it’s going that way here if we do not act now and I’m sure all parties will give lip service to the above but the extent they act is totally dependant on to what extent our government and media is committed to the real deal or is playing their piper’s tune

Please be aware the copy in Bold Print was left out of the Queensland Times Letters to the Editor.

And Around We Go Again!

You would reckon about 6 months out from a election a government would have its act together but not on your sweet Nellie we have.
With those polls the politicians all knee jerk to showing a swing against the Government the Media yes Media is talking up a challenge. We have to ask why but I suppose if you don’t have much to report or your too lazy to get up off your bum to find real stories you just create it and report it as fact.
No, I am being a little too hypersensitive I suppose but there is some truth in the way they do “creative press”.
Personally, right now in Australian politics the people are not listening to Julia Gillard. That’s from a party member too. Kevin Rudd was the deposed Emperor by the factions and still has political credibility across the nation still regardless of what you are fed by the press. We have a right wing state government that has presumed a ideology that would be introduced across the nation if Abbott was to win government, however the rest of the nation does not know or realise the impact nationally if those policies were introduced nationally.
This nation would be on the streets within 6 months as they are in Europe, but they,as punters are usually vote without much thought, just what they get from the 60 second news grabs or what they hear at the lunch table at work.
Back to Rudd. He may not win the election if he has a run at the leadership but he will certainly change the political landscape, something the ALP need to do to sell their achievements, instead of defending the truth. Negativity sells to the ignorant.
The circus continues…..
