Well it was my idea. I take full responsibility.
After my best mate passed on about 6months ago I/we decided it was a good idea to get another dog as a companion.
Well the last was a ridgeback Dane and so intelligent we/I thought the similarities would be good and we may get a similar personality as for the past 10 years….
Wrong….. Wrong… So far anyway.
We took possession of a ridgeback, a dear little thing and for about 4 hours we were in charge…
Then it all changed. Yes we got the runt of the litter, the one that struggled to survive in a litter of 13 and did get some human interaction early in its life so what could be better for two sixty year olds to have as a companion and guardian as we all grow older….
Well we did give our last pet the run of the house and property and she appreciated the freedom and acted as a true guard dog. Fooled everybody, she was a sook but a big sook with a bark like a bull whip. Her presence was intimidating to many but once inside the sanctum she had you were a friend if you behaved yourself and not show aggression to her owners or as she may see it as fellow pack members.
The new one although only 5months old is showing great pack mentality too, only we are still deciding who will lead the pack… A battle of wills at times you might say or at time bloody warfare.
When your sixty your skin is not as tough as it used to be, and claws even though they may be well meaning hugs make you bleed and you prized shoes become toys along with clothes, plants, pots anything that has movement.

In fact sometimes you become a soft toy if you are not careful and those love rely puppy teeth are like piraña’s.
And who doesn’t mind being woken in the morning with some loverly kisses, that turn to bites if you don’t move.
Yes we have had altercations, and that is continuing but you know it has given us both life. A new kid that needs to be taught how to behave in public.
Life for her is one big game at present, and its like having a teenager rampaging your house but this time without the heavy metal chords.
Yep and as mother has gone away for a few days its just her and me to sort it out and we will ….. I think.. I have a mate who is a doctor if needed, and if I keep up the food we should survive the ordeal.
I think….
To be continued I hope…….

Multi Culture ism does not Grow in Everybody’s Garden.

With the election winds blowing like most of us who do take a interest in our country’s future I take a interest in which direction the punters may send us and more importantly our children and grandchildren, for this who have them.
Personally I am. Labor Supporter, and one of those who are ridiculed, but stand my ground as a party member, and proud of it.
I don’t send out red neck cock headed racist emails to people nor do I try to impose my beliefs upon anyone else, but after a while I will respond if my tolerance ceases to exist, often to my demise but that’s part of standing for a cause that does have a social conscious.
I won’t go into what that means as that does not grow in many conservative political groups garden where the main DNA driver is the almighty dollar, and yes I have been in business with some success and know exactly how the opposition think and their opinions of the working class. Not all employers are Tories as you are led to believe by the Conservatives, and some do care, while others do not give a rats, yet parade as fine upstanding pillars of our society. In saying that, to be honest it cuts two ways, some employees do not deserve a good boss or appreciate a good boss, until they get redundant or the sack and restart.
Funny that, that fits when you change governments too !!!
Any back to my rant about those fucking emails that are made up in the Slime Bags in the properganda departments, forwarded to the party faith full then distributed, promoting fear, hate, division, racism, all the ingredients that Hitler used to motivate a nation to go beyond the realms human ethics.
That’s not our culture in Australia. Me I come from German, English, New Zealand, Italy/Swiss and who knows ?? And proud of it. Those relatives came here as migrants or some other country as migrants, of their own free will or forced by circumstance, it does not matter today nor will it matter tomorrow.
What I can’t tolerate is Children being taught to hate. To me that’s Child Abuse and its highest level. I had choices, I made up My mind., I worked from day one in a enviourement of mixed races worldwide, a Shipyard next door to the Australian migrant centre and worked with Muslims, Islamists, Chinese, Hindu, you name it they were there all contributing along side of the local bloke who just happens to be Australian not necessarily a Christian either.
At over 60 you may say you’ve seen a bit, not all but what I am seeing is fear being used as political capital as is done with many religions and political parties using that fear on the people who are not tolerant to accepting we are humans, not the same, yet being able to see, listen and learn from other cultures not demonise them. That’s what we should be teaching our children !!
That takes courage, and this logic will not sit well as some are imbedded with that distrust of anybody other than a white Circassian , hence the toxic properganda distribution network will prevail for those who attach themselves to it as part of their insecurity blanket.
Me, if I get too many of the toxins you get blacklisted, blocked and any intelligent information you wish to impart will never be realised at this address.

Secure from What?

Well with this new bloke Snowden tipping the bucket, joins the que along with Assange and Manning on letting us punters know what is happening behind the scenes.
The politicians know, the public servants know, the terriosts know, so it should not be a surprise to any of us should it.
I keep hearing the spiel ” if your not doing anything wrong then you should not be concerned if your privacy is impeded”. Yep that’s a point but are we entitled to any “privacy”in 2013. That’s a question or do we just surrender it in the name of “Freedom”.
Well if you think that’s the case and privacy is not a issue , walk around naked, and see how far that gets you. The government will understand, and so will the police when you picked up.
I believe in security and intelligence gathering but we are at a stage where we are guilty until proven innocent in this scenario. If this blog is seen as threatening I will be targeted by some paranoid Peter in a dark room somewhere in cyber world and from my mother upwards can be tracked because they can.
Is that Freedom of expression? No it’s now become intimidation. Paranoid Intimidation of about 99% of all Internet users to try and catch someone who already knows what the game rules are.
No I believe terrisom is a excuse to gather intelligence to sell to corporates on our habits and trends for marketing in true capitalistic fashion for getting the jump on those who do not have access to the data.
No one has asked the question what the providers are being paid or the price of government access and who gets the data after capture and for what price.
A viable little business you must agree if you are part of the “joke”.
Highlighting Manning, Assange and now Snowden takes the focus off the real game and the chest beating by governments keeping us scared, so they can protect us from…….

Animal Therapy Wins

Well its been a while, 7 weeks in fact since Francis the new hip was installed, lost my best mate Ebony to a Tuma but the world goes on.
In my book after I lost my girl I had to focus on recovery and to create milestones slowly to get your life back to normal.
Having family to assist is half the battle and relieving them of their commitment to my cause was pleasing knowing my reliability on them way diminishing daily..
During that period Ebony’s loss was always a reminder and we soon had to make a decision on weather or when we go out and start searching for a puppy and letting go.
Being in the older age bracket as well, considerations had to be made about what sort to companion we wanted taking into consideration our home, location and security.
The latter was never a problem with Ebony. Great Dane Ridgeback was enough to deter many a salesman let alone a person who wanted to take her on and the 410.
Mind you nothing in our house is worth much to any robber as sentiment is rarely transferable, but then again the grubs these days just don’t care.
So we came to a decision, a full Rhodesian Ridgeback and what a decision that was.
Forgot about all the little things that come with a young dog. The slippers, puddles, whoopseys, shoes, sleep, just like a new grandkid. And it is as we not have one.
Anyway while all this is going on my body was getting stronger but chasing her from out of the paddock was out of the question so when we decided to ignore a instruction we came to a altercation we had to have when you have 2 strong minded individuals, there would be only one winner.
I think it was me… Not sure but I won the round anyway on points.
Any way it now a ongoing learning curve for all of us testing boundaries to achieve good results a
is my therapy of getting back to my normal life so its working for both of us.
Yes, never been without a dog for any length of time and what I have read people with pets live longer than those without, and I can see why.
They keep their mouths shut when you tell them secrets, humans rarely can..

Australia Deserves a Quality NBN

Well after 20 years in the nations biggest telecommunication companies and rolling out the initial optical fibre across my state of Queensland I think I may have a little knowledge about what the National Broadband Network will and won’t do, void of the political spin we are now being subjected to by our politicians, none of which have had any hands on experience to my knowledge..
Firstly Australia is a massive area and cannot be compared with any other nation in the world. As Great Britain fits into Queensland 3 times a cable could go from the top to the bottom of the nation and provide access to 20 million or more clients proving what software you put on the end of the fibre, while in Australia you could go that far and not have ONE customer. Been there done that.
The eastern side of Australia used to subsidise the the entire national network west do the dividing range, but privatisation stopped that and the West was abandoned to pair gains on a network designed for one pair one customer. Fine if the network was maintained but that was too costly so it was handed over to the only do enough to keep it going policy.
It’s costly out west and that’s where “the fuck you I’m all right Jack” policy of the silver tails in the cities got their ADSL while the bush was still on dial up.
The LNP is going to give the bush the ADSL Home Brand Network under Abbott again if elected.
The NBN must be rolled out ONCE and do it for the whole Nation not just the profitable areas or again the bush will be continue to be second class clients.
The hate of public assets being in public hands is part of LNP DNA and telecommunications in today’s world cannot be trusted to Big Business as they will only look after themselves then eliminate the opportunities of competition of the lower sectors.
Vote for this network, or swallow the Turnbull spin you and your grandchildren will be condemned to catch up technology for decades not of your choice but of what “they” choose to allow you to have.
From one of thousands of Baggy Arsed Liney who took pride building the best network in the world until greed was prioritise ahead of each and every Australians right for quality communication wherever you lived to run your business and Family.

Francis the New Hip Has Issues

Well it’s like this. After a while you new hip replacement need to stand on its own two feet. It’s between over 3 weeks since Francis was fitted and things aren’t going too bad.
Pain yes, but no where near as much as with the old hip.. Different pain too in fact….
Getting off the big cannons for pain relief is a issue that must be addressed.
People stay on them too long and addiction is a issue.
For Me its back to off the self stuff now like it or lump it. That comes with issues too, constipation, sleep imbalance but it has to be overcome.
The body is still accepting its foreign insertion I believe and shock is still a factor even after 3 weeks, but for a bloke who has never had a major operation this is a totally new experience.
One step a a time says the physio and she is pretty right. No hero tics she said just do as your told. She said and banned me from driving for 6 months…
I said forget the hip I want drugs for sitting beside the wife while she is driving and keeping my mouth shut!!!!
Not a good statement with a room full of women in her surgery. I got the appropriate responses loud and clear.
I sat down in the corner, as you do…. Verbally assaulted in the foetus position..
Well that’s about it up until now….

All about Attitude…

Yesterday I decided to venture into my Town for the first time since Francis the new Hip has been installed.
Getting the basics, Fuel, meat, groceries all that stuff but foe me was getting out of the bloody house into the Landy and basically scenery change.
Well I sat their in the local supermarket crutches at my side and saying g,day to many, having a yarn to those who needed one, general human interaction.
On the other side though their was some who distinctly went out of their way not to be seen..
Now this could be put down to many factors. I do have a tendency to call it as it is , and I have left the local golf club and gone to the opposition. No browny points their, so its a laugh when you see old people acting like kids in a schoolyard.
Well I suppose that’s small town mentality, and I knew straight away why I did not frequent the town before, which is sad, but as people get older many seem to get bitter instead of the reverse as they need more interaction instead of isolating it.
Anyway that’s their problem, I’m outta here and a life to live…

Value your Mate while you have one.

What a difference one day makes in our life.
After writing about my Unconditional Mate, later in the day led me to take her to the Vet after a she appeared stressed, and after diagnosis yesterday I had to have her euthanised.
This outcome has gutted us all, but we are confident we got the diagnosis early and although in curable she did not suffer.
That’s was the positive, as I owe it to that beautiful Girl who gave my life and my families so much pleasure daily.
Their will never be another Ebony in my life and she impacted on everybody who had the honour to be part of her pack. …

Love ya Ebbs…..
