Murdock Media rails against Federal Corruption RC.

Paul Murray’s spin on the introduction of a Federal Royal Commission into Political corruption he describe as “overreach” cannot go unchallenged.

The tarnishing of political opponents were not far from his pencil I recall when the Trade Unions were and former Prime Ministers had to front commissions commissioned by the Coalition days after the election. His support for a Banking enquires was in line with Coalition policy until they were dragged kicking and screaming to the bench, which leave me thinking why the resistance to a Federal Iccac and what do the politicians have to hide?

When the media takes a stance against government transparency I question its ethical standards regardless of which side of politics you support. Protecting politicians is not the role of media unless you want a media landscape like America.

I hope this hung parliaments first job is to announce that Royal Commission into Political Corruption and we will see which side screams the loudest and after Murray’s article it’s becoming obvious one side is clearly nervous.

Leave TELSTRA Employees Out of it.

I feel the pain of TELSTRA complaints every time I see and hear how customers are responding to the lack of service, performance and lack of basic good corporate citizenship.

I don’t expect customers of the this day and age to appreciate the corporate ethics the company had before it was decided the shareholders held more priorities than customers. I agonise when I see guards left on footpaths for years, pits crumbling, non identifiable people accessing the network at pillars knowing how confidentiality and privacy protocols no longer apply or monitored.

Every day in Australia we see good people in uniforms go to work and represent a company, cop the abuse, and do their best for a employer knowing full well they are working with people and systems that are not performing to our standards but may meet some benchmarks set by a bean counter that only understands profit and outsourcing Australians.

Shannon’s experience is common, and will continue until we take back what Australians owned and paid for before privatisation.

I had a American telecommunications expert tell me the network I was accountable for was “too good” and costing too much to maintain and customers had to expect delays in installation and repairs, FACT and that was just before the days of Blunt as MD. That signalled lip service to customer service.

Outsourcing responsibility, accountability, service and especially company brand is a decision only someone who has no respect or appreciation for the vastness and history of the Australian telecommunications network and the attitude accepted by overseas call centres of its “just another call” is not acceptable here and never will be, but please remember those Australian employees you vent your spleen on today are not the people who sold the farm and it’s machinery.

Polling Complacency, a Danger to Our Culture.

The expulsion of the young Nationals should start the alarm bells ringing in all political institutions in Australia.

The simple fact the strategy was to infiltrate a major party and change political platforms in such a blatant way and go unchecked shows that our political systems can be influenced by the extreme be it left or right and the smaller parties are not exempt.

On social media I am seeing groups accelerate decisive propaganda preying on people’s emotions, encouraging religious and cultural divide, all in the name of being “Real Australians” a nationalistic trend that is happening across the globe by ult-right organisations. These groups thrive when people become political disenfranchised and results in people voting for the minors as a protest vote. Those minors are easy meat for the extremists as the structures are in place and the numbers easier to be stacked and then balance of power is the objective.

I am in favour of competition in our democracy but I do not want to see our divide grow as it has in America. We are smarter than that I hope, but let’s not fall into the trap that “all politicians and Parties are the same”, either, their not. Some ideologies are deadly serious to change our culture to one controlled by interest groups similar to the NRA.

Be aware punters, not complacent.

LNP run Scared of Federal ICAC.

Ho hum, nothing is new when the the conservatives see the trade union movement a enemy. Nothing new when they establish a royal commission into them and come away with egg on their faces at the cost of millions for taxpayers. Illegal raids on union premises and ministers who hide from senate scrutiny.

Yes they are the proverbial punching bag for every LNP politician since dot we have to ask why.?

As time goes on we take for granted pensions, holiday, sick leave, superannuation, maternity leave right down to your lunch room all of which was fought for by unionists, not given but fought for.

I won’t go into on Job safety, wage parity,or things this like asbestos victim support, compensation, as each and every one of the mentioned above was opposed by the good employers who believe we should be thankful as was the serfs.

The standards of the present government has been set when our new PM was dragged kicking and screaming into the current Bank Enquirey looking after his mates and imagine if any union had committed offences against its membership as the banks have to their customers how the conservatives would respond.

Personally I can’t wait to see a full federal ICAC/ CCC set up in Australia to investigate all sides and again we have to ask why this government runs scared whenever it’s mentioned.. Yes PM again you can run but you can’t hide, it will come.

Run in full..

Can You sort the Wheat from the Chaff?

No wonder the punters are totally sick of politics after the performance of the federal government of late but strap yourselves in as their will be more rot to come.

Bi elections and speculation of full federal elections will flood our airwaves but as painful as it will be we must be able to sort out the wheat from the chaff.

We will be subjected to fear campaigns on migration, climate, climate denial, religious freedoms, dole bludgers and the budget.,All the old tired cliches will be dragged out expecting us to swallow the baits again.

Its quite clear even the the most disinterested person the coup backed by the ultra right owned by big coal supported by the media barons saw fit to remove our PM. but was foiled by shear mathematics of democracy. The plan to hijack government was poorly executed by ideological thugs, ego driven with no regard of what our decision was at the polls.

We saw Rudd/Gillard fiasco 5 years ago and by giving the grass roots of the party a say stability has occurred much to the irritation of the same media that supported Turnbull’s demise.

Sooner or later we must get away from electing any PM by personality only. We have to look at who has the skills, be it black or white, male or female, who will. come equiped with policy that will help all Australians from the bottom up not top down.

The fixation on media cycle politics is destroying good sound government and someone has to put the media back in their rightful box ,a role to keep them honest and report the story and not be part of it.

The Sub Editors Cut…

Old White Mens Ducks Line Up.

Unfortunately with the Anning/Katter coming clean about their the white extremist beliefs has driven the debate so far right that I’d you believe in middle road politics you are regarded as a left wing loony.

Again I am guilty of giving these people oxygen by referring to their incipient actions but I’m afraid if we do not stand up and call it out we are not doing justice to those who cannot speak out because they would be accused of being trouble makers and if you don’t like it go back from where you came.

If any of the politicians who now openly support the White Australia ideology put that to the electorate before they were elected I’m sure the media and the punters would judge them accordingly but it takes a trigger or a series of issues and all their ducks line up and their true beliefs are reviled.

As history repeats the colonial old white men reinvent the past to justify in their minds simplistic views to alarm those uneducated to the political climate by creating fears and prejudices, the oldest propaganda trick in the book.

The only solution they offer is segregation, void of any policy structure or strategic thinking, which the media in particular rarely challenges choosing only to highlight the ugly shock bits.

The last census revealed around 62% of our population were Christian, 32% atheist or non religious, which leaves about 6% for the rest of all beliefs, so the spin of being swamped by any culture is a fear mongering lie..

Their are only one race that truly say they are true Australians and it’s them who are fighting to retain their aboriginal culture which we and the media choose to conveniently not draw comparisons..

Free Opinion Collateral Damage with Fairfax Demolition

The Fairfax blitzkrieg should send warning signs to not only journalists and their industry but letter writers in all of the letters to the editor contributors nationally.

I’m sure I am not alone when I say my letters have been butchered and re written to suit not only the space issue but the political narrative, religious narrative or commercial set by the overall owners to a point where I was informed my contributions were no longer required.

This decision does nothing to enhance free opinion but further crush it a s anyone who dares to challenge the corporate culture or or its associated TV platforms or sponsors. be it professional journalist or us humble scribes who think our opinion matters and delivered in terms that may be uncomfortable for some.

We are told free speech is the bedrock of democracy and that is in danger as the corporates will put their economic survival their priority leaving us who possibly live in dreams of balanced reporting a stark choice of left or right journalistic garbage.

Their has never been a stronger case for support of our ABC.

Councillors Dynasty’s Dissolved.

Finally Hinchliffe and the CCC has delivered the facts on why this council is being dismissed it could be no longer disputed that culture within is the root cause and cannot be changed.

Unfortunately when long standing appointments to public office occurs those cultures are created and at times used to retain office.. Many writers in this column have been called by sitting members if their opinions clash, and all hell breaks if you are seen to support a challenger at the polls. It will be remembered and reminded when dynasties are challenged.

Ken Aldertons point on the dissolution of divisions must be a priority of the Administrators if culture change is to be rebuilt, encouraging lobbying groups to deal with the council as a whole and not individual one on one entities.

Yes, prepare yourself for the cry’s that will be loud and long as long time power bases loose their insider statuses but that’s exactly what the CCC has highlighted as part of endemic problem within Council.

I’m sure other Councils have structures that do not cost ratepayers for permanent individual office sites ,staffing where ratepayers can have direct local contact for community organisations and needs, with Councillors with delegated roles for the entire council areas delivering full accountable transparency for each and every portfolio.

We as ratepayers demand clean air and again my thoughts are with the new appointees as they did not know or believed the toxic culture that still is regarded as normal for those who still cry foul.

The Fish Rots From the Head Down.

Where are we headed.?

We as a nation have accepted the genocide of people trying to escape persecution treating them as invaders, we see our aboriginals cultures slowly be decimated for non conformity, we allow our churches to protect and hide known pedophiles and when caught out protect them then do everything to stop full compensation while their hierarchy’s bath in gold.

America withdraws from The Human Rights Council as it caught doing what the Nazi did separating mothers from children as a punishment, as we watch Israel systematically crush a civilisation with the blessings of our gutless leaders too scared stand up for what they must know is wrong but choose to ignore it for political or monitory gain.

Who is asking the hard questions, who is putting the alternative point of view? Certainly not main stream media. Are They are lapdogs to the system and I wonder where is the journalistic ethics taught in their diplomas gone?

The standard you choose to ignore are the standards you accept.

Public opinion still has power but people need to be informed and that information is power and as we are witnessing the attack on the ABC for questioning government. Thats their job. All governments dislike scrutiny and attacking the ABC messenger is par for the course whoever is in power.

Please ask yourself now if this trend continues, what type of a society will we leave our grandkids.?

They went to war to save us what we are seeing and accepting now as the new normal, or is it just too hard?

I don’t accept the present standard, do you?

The fish rots from the head down.

Cyber Attack Self Inflicted.

It is now with monotonous regularity we are alerted that our security has or has the potential to be infringed.

At a cost of billions governments has set up new Departments, employed millions of staff and in fact created a total industry that obviously far off the pace of the hackers.

We always know why as the excuses are so repetitious but how is never actually revealed and not shocking that most of the alleged hackers are coming from countries with closed networks.

In our exuberance to open ourselves to privatisation we surrendered security of our communication system to the shareholder, and anyone that paraded as a communications employee was given instant access to our exchanges, pillars and cross connecting equipment. Even today no one challenges a unmarked ute or van parked outside a business , house or now fibre distribution point as most have been conditioned that’s its legitimate activity.

Those of us who were trained in communication security before privatisation predicted this viral trend and was duly redundant.

As the network now is more condensed yet more accessible to the would be perpetrators, security is now left to on site cyber walls owned and operated by commercial interests. Yep that’s safe, you must agree?

It’s up to governments, not commercial interests to protect our commercial and private data and subletting accountability is not acceptable, and every time you hear or see security breaches remember its self inflicted and think how good privatisation of our communication carriage has made Australia, and if it’s personally worth it.

Then in saying that if you’ve never had it you’ll never know, until it’s you that’s hacked.
