Truth after Defrocking

So our ex Prime Minister is in England telling his like minded Christians to close borders and turn back refugees.That’s a real Christian thing to do isn’t it?

Preserve the race he said, don’t let your culture be contaminated with foreigners, fine words from a good Catholic ex priest.

Whatever way you look at it it has the Arian Hitler undertones, Or is it they do not want other religions on their patch or both.

The right to seek asylum is becoming non existent, in fact it’s becoming a crime, supported by a brotherhood of frightened old men around the world clinging to power that will do and say anything to keep the population dumb enough and scared enough to retain their pay packets.

In Australia we are a country of immigrants. We committed genocide on our Aboriginals as did the Americans on their Indians, in a latter day Holocaust, something our forefathers we’re proud of. Yes we civilised the savages, but it was their home , we invaded, raped and pillaged as did the Romans and Vikings, but ours was in the name of God. Our God, not theirs, so that justifies the end result.

But we feel threatened when we see people fleeing oppression wanting sanctuary. Have we been led up the garden path so much we are now so insecure in our own country, a land born on multiculturalism and not to allow that multiculturalism to flourish and evolve would be tragic.

If we have the old men have won. The old adages of divide and conquer, dumb them down, information is power, we will tell you only what you need to know, trust us we know more about… Be aware be scared, it’s the migrants fault.. All spin to keep the brotherhood in tact regardless of what side of centralised political spectrum is in power.

In our case Abbott the ex PM run the case “stop the boats” stating he was providing to put the people smugglers out of business, but today the true case was to stop immigrants from our cultural contamination, which strangely while in power denied their was any racial undertones by only giving Christians minority’s visas.

Amazing how the truth appears when going abroad, without the spin doctors, but be aware we probably are witnessing the new career of Tony Abbott supported by Murdock on the Right Wing Nutters Circuit coming to a town near you.

The Back Nine.

I FIRST STARTED READING THIS EMAIL & WAS READING FAST UNTIL I REACHED THE THIRD SENTENCE. I STOPPED AND STARTED OVER READING SLOWER AND THINKING ABOUT EVERY WORD. THIS EMAIL IS VERY THOUGHT PROVOKING. MAKES YOU STOP AND THINK. READ SLOWLY!
AND THEN IT IS WINTER
You know … time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years. It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. Yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all. I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams.

But, here it is… the back nine of my life and it catches me by surprise…How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my youth go?
I remember well seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that I was only on the first hole and the back nine was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like.
But, here it is…my friends are retired and getting grey…they move slower and I see an older person now. Some are in better and some worse shape than me…but, I see the great change…Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant…but, like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we’d become.

Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore… it’s mandatory! Cause if I don’t on my own free will… I just fall asleep where I sit!
And so…now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!! But, at least I know, that though I’m on the back nine, and I’m not sure how long it will last…this I know, that when it’s over on this earth…it’s over. A new adventure will begin! Yes, I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn’t done…things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I’m happy to have done. It’s all in a lifetime.

So, if you’re not on the back nine yet…let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly! Don’t put things off too long!! Life goes by quickly. So, do what you can today, as you can never be sure whether you’re on the back nine or not!
You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life…so, live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember…and hope that they appreciate and love you for all the things that you have done for them in all the years past!!

“Life” is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after. Make it a fantastic one. LIVE IT WELL! ENJOY TODAY! DO SOMETHING FUN! BE HAPPY ! HAVE A GREAT DAY Remember “It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver. LIVE HAPPY IN 2015!

Old Age is Great…

You know what. I’m stuffed.After 2 days of golf last week, a day going to Mothers 86th, a day down just vegging out now today with a little shower this morning thought the atmosphere might improve.

It hasn’t.. Lungs are still heavy..

This asbestosis shits me off no end, but it’s not going to beat me..

Battling tiredness and breathlessness daily takes it toll but I will survive. I have jobs to do on my house and that will get done. That’s what drives me and even though some days it’s sit down and rest,no choice, I will win….

What really gets me is the mind. It wants to go and the body says piss off.. And I hate starting something and not finishing it but I have learnt listening to your body helps as the recovery level takes much longer if you don’t.

Today the lungs say air better than yesterday, the body is responding, be it slowly, the mind says lest go you pair of fuck wits and get these jobs done.

Experience says let’s see how the morning pans out…

Anyway mother called and she no longer has a clot, or pneumonia.

Yep, that was the diagnosis after the party, a night in hospital and both were dismissed..

Some times a little knowledge causes a trauma, and worst case scenarios fester. That’s why my doctor dismissed a colenoscomy as a reaction rarely needed and trauma causing at my age. Every 5 years max. Good decision I feel….

Yes old age is great, bits falling off and body slowly closing down, that’s nature, so it’s here for a good time not a long time.

That’s why my golf is so important. Good friends and comradeship, playing in a buggy on flat courses, keeps me younger, playing in company of youth keeps me younger, listening to youth and keeping abreast of their technology keeps me younger.. Staying competitive via handicap keeps me younger.

Yes recovery time is required but it’s worth every cent… And having a wife that understands sport, played sport, and still follows more sport than I do, knows that sport has never left us from the day we met at the football club where we both were playing back in about 1964.

Anyway after watching Australia qualify for the 2015 World Cup Rugby Final against the All Blacks we are really looking forward to getting up at midnight On Monday morning for the final..

I am split as I love both teams, and as I have blood in both camps apparently I’ll enjoy the spectacle….

Waiting for Marcie

Well here we go.
We’ve got a category 2 and increasing cyclone off the coast, full weather alerts out, emergency crews on standby expecting a flogging..
So what can we do other than get ready.. It really brings you back to reality when you realise you are just a mortal, not in control, all the new tech is totally useless other than telling you it’s on it’s way. Yep they could do that back in the 50’s but not quite as accurately. So what, time is stuff all to a cyclone anyway, it’s in charge not you. Get over it.
I n fact the more time you get to prepare the better you should be off.. That is if you listen. I’m nearly 65, seen a few but respect nature and nothing is the same. Some of the wise men will not agree but our climate is changing, seas rising, planet heating, you know it unless your one of the Looney tunes who put their hands over their ears and go LALA.
Deniers… No, just mislead by the Barons who want the world to remain on old money, keeping their investments performing. Lying to the masses is all part of their game and like everything some will take the bait and run with it.. The uneducated are the targets and they usually are the loudest.
So anyway waiting for nature to do its work makes you reflect on our lives and what is installed for our children and their children.
Right wing politicians have only one agenda, one God, and that is money. Everything they do and say, policy, ideology is driven by the dollar. Every argument is cost driven. They know the price of everything and the value of Nothing. Social consciousness only a consideration after their wallets are full.
Anyway I’ve had my rant for the day, the wind has changed and swinging northward, and the humidity climbing.. We are in for a touch up, not so much inland as those on the coast. I have just had a report that there is a metre and half waves at Redcliffe, that means massive flooding in the lower areas and the centre is no where near them yet…

As the Submarine goes under.

This morning started with the police dragging a VW for whatever reason outside the house… Angry Lights and all…
Good start, but it gets better. Our beloved Prime Minister backs out on a commitment to build subs that he gave to get party room support so he can keep his job One Day after he gave it. Now that’s worth a ticket for speeding surely!!!
So he survived the battle, but he has lost the war.. I am pleased really as this day to day speculation on his future by the media will only end in his dismissal by his party or his resignation. Their is no other way as 39 of his backbenchers are after is head.
The white ants are working under the paint.
The obvious choice is Turnbull, intelligent, statesmanlike, and articulate, everything Abbott is not. But that’s Tory logic. He does not come from the right boys club. Forget about the skills it the class culture..
Well Labor is also guilty of that as well, it’s called factions and they often overlook skill over ideology. My pet hate.
The sooner we get politicians who are dedicated to the electorate, the punters , and not the big end of town or the donors we will get better people in our service. Remember them, people who care about Joe Citizen.
They may not have been as polished, pompous, or poetic but they were practical. Rough around the edges but good honest people. Mainly.
Now the corporations that are their gods not the voters. They come a sad last after their own ambitions..
The fact is you have no Friends in Politics, just acquaintances, regardless of which side your on, and the punters are a distraction.

Our Family Pack

That was easy….. Ruby my Ridgback has a ear infection and just administered her medication into the ear and I still have all my body parts!
The wallet has come out with some damage but that comes with the territory.
Strange this, my darling wife decided to take it into her own hands and take her to our now former vet and the experience was a catalyst for complete mistrust of the people and the premises it happened..
Changed vets and the experience was much more pleasant and we did the process at home with one application not the 2 stage of before…
A daily process instead of twice daily, so less traumatic….
A win win I think. And yes my Ruby is a bit spoilt, and she does spend a lot of time with us humans, and we are getting old and live on a main highway so that’s why we have a big girl at our side. We have been broken into as our old girl ebony was a little deaf in the end but I am sure the thieves were spooked when she found them and departed quick.
Ruby is not receptive to strangers unless they get our tick… And they get her tick.
Over time I have found my canine friends are a very good judge of character and at times I have doubted their opinion and I have been wrong..
They can smell a rat and often that’s why some can be accepted and some humans not..
But again, some people do object to getting their private parts sniffed, which I have found is what ridgebacks do to check you out. My ridgeback Great Dane former girl had the same habit.
Suppose it’s their way of checking you into their pack.. Or not..
Any way people will accept us as we are, Ruby included, warts and all or on ya bike.

The Tai Chi start… Was not without drama.

Well the wife decided she would take up Tai Chi and went to the local community hall to see the drill.
I’ve been thinking the same since my hip Replacment but haven’t made the move.. Well when she came home yesterday and told me what she observed I looked on the App site and come up with a pretty popular beginners tool and proceeded to introduce myself to the pastime, and I might say was impressed by the way i felt just after the warm up sets…
All the time I was doing the exercises I was under observation from “she who must be obeyed” and when I asked her if she wanted to use the App I was told it’s not the right one and …………..blah blah
Fine was my reply but how can you become a authority with as little as 15 minutes observation and no participation I ask???
Ok wrong question! “I’ll wait till next week to start” was the response.
Fine, but what can you do wrong if you start today with this and when you go to the hall next week see if it is any different?
Male logic, but not accepted.
Fine again. “I know Nothing”
Well me and the dog will progress, ” she likes the music on the iPad app” every day.

All shall be reviled in the fullness of time….

Keep the Galah Squarking.

Our Prime Ministerial appearance at The Press Club yesterday was in no way a speech to the people. It was a survival speech directed at his enemies on the back benches.
The rehetoric was exactly the same as he did in election mode, filled with spin and slogans.
Even the Murdock Press could not cushion the speculation and distrust surrounding his leadership style and performance.
So why are we surprised? We all knew he was a thug in opposition, a spoiler a smasher of anything that resembled equality to the working man and women.
Any way at the end of the day it wont matter, and I hope with all my heart they let him serve out his term as PM, as the longer he stays the bigger the margin the Australian Labor Party will be delivered by the people of Australia.

The Right ideology fails the test.

Ask yourself how could a government with a majority of 95% on the floor of the House get smashed in their first term.
Quite simple really. What you do is put big business in control of your decisions on the economy, so as to suit them, then try and sell the assets to the big business mates, then trash all enviourement conditions that hinder your party donors.
Oh yes, then create a fictitious Debt to to drive down wages and conditions, sack public servants and sub contract those Jobs out or just forget the service they provided and tell people they have to pay for things they have they have already paid for through taxes…
That’s it, in short put money ahead of people, base all decisions on money, and abandon any social conscious.. But tell them it’s good for the country…
Yes, they did all of the above are were obliterated.
But how many governments sell the same crap to their people and they believe it????
Well let me tell you austerity does not creat wealth, it stymies it. Monkeys can cut, but it takes lateral thinking to creat and grow economies and you have to bring the people along with you. Negative thinking is the only weapon the right have, and it works for a while until the penny drops on the Intellegent ones, but unfortunately common sense does not grow in everybody’s garden…
Well Queensland Australia decided enough was enough and one term of Right Wing ideology was totally UnAustralian, and totally rejected Rupert Murdock’s trash press and slime bag comments, and all of a sudden the rest of Australia have realised our Federal Government is exactly the same as Newman’s and are just waiting to vent their spleen.
Fact is when Labor in Queensland was voted out the people did not actually vote Newman in, same with Abbott. They wanted to shake the governments up and rightly so in any democracy but they got a taste of what the money men do to fill their own pockets and said NO!!
Saturday’s decision was a correction, I believe and a message to all politicians from all sides, don’t ever take the punters lightly as the bum you are kicking today is the one you may be kissing tomorrow.

Been some water under the Bridge..

Since the last post a bit has and is going on.. In my life the asbestosis is staying static I think and that’s a real positive. You have some good and bad days but that’s just how it works.
The new Golf club is still enjoyable to attend. Some great friends have been made and I can still get in 18 in the cart but it takes me a day or two to recover.. That’s fine to, and even occasionally I travel to play in a masters event on a different course which adds to the friendship circle…
Wife has decided only one day volunteering is enough, and spend more time in the paddock gardening. Still has that aversion to housework.
The White ants damage I’m addressing but that’s another story.
I got into strife also for not participating in Club politics at the new club but I’ve been burnt before and no replays please.. But I have no issue in advising the young people who have put their hands up to manage if they ask for advice.. But only if they ask…
Outside me my boy is still fighting mental illness and at 40 it’s a tough is due especially when the present government thinks all with a disability can work. He wants to work but can’t as his condition fluctuates and no employer will chance a time bomb on a machine or project, and that’s what is adding to his condition… A self feeding prophecy that takes its toll on all that is touched by mental illnesses and their families.
The house is about to go under a refit in places.. Guttering, roofing, painting, carpets, bathroom, and those white ant repairs.. It all goes on..
This Saturday we go to the polls, and I hope people have the intelligence to vote for what is good for our country and kids not just themselves..
My principals have always been Labor, even in business I was Labor. This trickle down crap from the rich is the world biggest con job but watch, greed jumps on their back and they all think they can join the elete, little do they know the truth that only the selected get the invitation and the rest dream. Spreading wealth from the bottom up boosts the economies while the Right pocket the wealth and feed crumbs to the underclasses.. Praying on the simpletons, keeping them scared, dividing their loyalties, playing the race card, and most of all keeping big business running governments, it’s a ploy played out all over the world by the Right, and we wonder why we have extremists multiplying…. Der…
If we want to leave our world a better place for our children, we have to consider our society and it’s principals.
Enough already…. It’s time for lunch… A sardine sandwich and a glass of water…. That’s plenty for us pensioners…
